Overview
lightfulweb partnered with Mastercard to bring Click to Pay — the next generation of online checkout — into a production payment flow. Click to Pay replaces manual card entry with a recognised, tokenised experience that works across card networks, reducing friction at the most critical moment: payment.
Our team owned the full implementation from architecture through to launch, integrating directly with Mastercard Unified Checkout Solutions and ensuring the experience was fast, secure, and conversion-optimised.

- Checkout experience
- 1-click

How it works
Click to Pay allows returning cardholders to complete a purchase without re-entering their card details. The card is recognised, the user confirms with a single tap, and the payment is processed — securely tokenised end to end.
We integrated the Mastercard SRC (Secure Remote Commerce) APIs into the existing checkout flow, handling enrolment, card recognition, and transaction processing. The frontend was built to provide a smooth, branded experience that feels native to the merchant's checkout.
Results
The integration delivered a noticeably better conversion rate at checkout. By removing the need to type card numbers and reducing steps in the payment flow, drop-off at the payment stage decreased significantly. The solution is now live and processing transactions in production.
